How to Fundraise in Times of Uncertainty

Fundraising is essential for any organization looking to improve their facilities without breaking the bank. Students and employees are typically the driving force behind these community fundraisers, but due to the spread of Covid-19 over this past year, traditional fundraising has taken a seat on the bench for now. That’s why we at Go Local have adjusted our fundraising system into a completely virtual platform, making it easier than ever to raise money through fundraising -– all while helping people in your community support local businesses!

Fundraising Companies to Choose From

While we are confident in our ability to enable your school, organization, or company to fundraise easily with our 12+ years of experience, we understand that there are many different fundraising companies on the table to choose from. Traditionally, most fundraising companies will encourage students or employees to sell their product door-to-door, or perhaps at an event. While we still leave this option on the table, we also offer a fully virtual platform and coach your students/employees to sell it effectively.

According to, online giving grew by 12.1% over the past year! This means that more people are donating money online now than ever before.

Go Local Fundraising Works for Any Organization
With our new virtual fundraiser platform, we relieve the stress of fundraising by doing all of the implementation. The only thing that you have to do for your organization is to help us tell your students, staff, or employees to share your landing page with their network. See below for the step-by-step instructions for starting a fundraiser for your organization with Go Local:

  1. Fill out our form to schedule a brief demonstration and to learn about your organization.

  2. After our discussion, we will create your organization landing page - our most recent one is with Texas School for the Deaf -

  3. We will schedule a time to do a one-hour virtual, or in-person meeting with your students and staff members. We like to call this a “blitz” because we essentially get everyone excited to go sell Go Local in order to raise money. Virtually, we do this by having everyone post the landing page on their social media pages, as well as having them text message or email their personal contacts. This is to ensure that we get your landing page out to as many people as possible.

  4. What’s the best part? Each year a person who signs up for Go Local with your fundraiser renews their membership $20/year, your organization will still receive 50% of that money. Please keep in mind that they will receive a text message asking if they want to renew their membership when that time comes.

Giving Back to the Community

At the end of the day, our goal with online fundraising is to help build stronger communities by raising money for local charities, schools, and organizations while simultaneously helping local businesses earn more loyal customers. We are looking to do fundraising for public schools, fundraisers for sports teams, high school fundraising, elementary school fundraisers, dance team fundraisers, football team fundraisers, soccer, and band fundraisers. Whether you are looking for a business to fundraise with, or are curious to learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here for you!
