1. Be at least 51% locally owned.
2. Agree to offer an exclusive discount to Go Local members that can be used every time they visit.
We want your Go Local deal to honor loyal customers, not break your bank account. Think of the offer as a ‘neighborhood’ discount for your local friends. Our most common discount is 10% off. Other examples include $10 off any purchase over $50, or a free upsell item with a purchase. We’re here to bounce off ideas if you’re struggling to come up with the perfect discount for your business!
Part of our program agreement requires a regular deal or discount that can be offered every time someone shows their Go Local card. We have found that this simple discount offered every time creates more loyalty, drives repeat purchases, and makes your customers feel like they are part of the neighborhood. Another way to look at it, your offer is the ‘price’ for all the software and technology we offer for free. Instead of charging you an arm and a leg for a loyalty program, we just ask that you honor our members with a discount they can enjoy every time.
This is a one-time offer in addition to your regular discount. Additional offers are customer incentives to help you sell more Go Local Memberships, and earn more recurring revenue. For example, you can offer a free guacamole for anyone who signs up to Go Local with one of your promo codes. Many partners who are serious about generating recurring revenue will offer this extra deal for new member signups.
When you join Go Local, we issue you and all your employees a custom promo code. This promo code gives your customers $5 off their first year Go Local Membership and it allows us to track referrals so we know that your business referred to the member.
For every customer that uses one of your promo codes, we pay you — the business owner — $7 and your employee $3.
We can connect your bank account through Stripe so you are automatically paid out every month. Your employees can cash out after reaching $20 balance from our Rewards portal, also by directly linking their bank account.
If a customer you refer to Go Local renews their membership the following year, then you will be paid an additional $10 from their membership fee. Your business will continue to receive $10 each year they renew!
Enrolling your employees in the program is not required. If you’d prefer to only offer a single business promo code, that is okay! However, we strongly recommend getting your employees into the program for revenue generation and employee retention. We have found it significantly increases sales of Go Local memberships and also gives them a pay raise and a reason to stay. Additionally, once enrolled each employee will receive their own Go Local membership for free to use at other locations.
No, we manage this for you! Our software allows all employees to be paid directly from us into their bank account through Stripe. We also issue them a 1099 at the end of the year so there is no additional work on your part.
